Project sponsor for the Partnership. It
is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving safe, walkable
communities- for personal health and recreation, for livable neighborhoods,
for traffic safety, and for clean air.
City Councilmember
Ray Tretheway
The councilmember represents the Natomas Community on the Sacramento City
Council and has provided leadership and targeted fiscal support to the
partnership.

Traffic Engineering
Services
The Partnership works with the City Traffic Engineer to address safety
hazards and improve conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists,
including
students and their parents.

50+ Wellness Program
The program encourages health and vitality for older adults throughout the
aging process with health education, exercise classes, a region-wide
neighborhood walk program, summer camps, a quarterly newsletter, and
referrals to other health promotion entities and opportunities for older
adults throughout the greater Sacramento region. In that regard, 50+
Wellness supports the Partnership for Active Communities Sacramento in its
efforts to promote walking.
Local Government Commission
The Local
Government Commission (LGC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, membership
organization that provides inspiration, technical assistance, and networking
to local elected officials and other dedicated community leaders who are
working to create healthy, walkable, and resource-efficient communities.

Natomas Unified School District (NUSD)
Natomas is the pilot community for the Safe Routes Partnership and NUSD is a
core partner. This district includes both schools with current Safe
Routes projects, Natomas Park and Bannon Creek.
North Natomas Transportation Management Association
A nonprofit, community-based transportation advocacy organization serving
the North
Natomas Community. NNTMA serves the North Natomas area with
one-stop transportation alternative information and develops
programming
responsive to the community's needs. NNTMA sponsors the "Walk to School"
program at Natomas Park Elementary.
David Engwicht -
Creative Communities International
Based in Brisbane Australia, David is an internationally recognized expert
in traffic calming and street reclaiming. David is an inventor and creator
of the walking school bus. He looks forward to working with the Partnership
on a pilot of his new "Traffic Tamers" program.
California Integrated Waste Management Board
The Board promotes a zero waste California in
partnership with local government, industry, and the public. This means
managing the estimated 76 million tons of waste generated each year by
reducing waste whenever possible, promoting the management of all materials
to their highest and best use, and protecting public health and safety and
the environment.
